I'm a licensed psychologist, though that is not my role here. My training in active listening shapes how I ask questions and draw out the stories you want to share. I grew up in Venezuela and am bilingual in English and Spanish and can develop monolingual or bilingual services. I'm dedicated to honoring the full complexity of who your loved one was, and to making these services accessible.
About Me
Why I Became a Funeral Celebrant
Grief can bring feelings of powerlessness. A yearning to have the person you lost still here with you. In the face of that, one way to make meaning is to create a space of healing that honors them by telling their story.
My own experience of loss drove my commitment to this work. In the midst of overwhelming grief, the one thing that gave me any relief was thinking about the tribute: how could we recognize who they really were, what they contributed, the impact they had? Helping people come together to hear that story, and to grieve as a community, is what this work is about.
I became a Certified Insight Institute Celebrant to support individuals, families, and communities who are grieving. This process involves meeting to learn their unique story and developing a narrative of their life to share with others.
